Ranting away

It's been awhile since I posted an entry, was actually lazy and didn't have the mood also, for the past month aside from getting bigger and my navel popping out, I've been learning how to cook, from traditional Singaporean chinese food to Japanese food. recently I've just learned how to make sushi, I actually quite like  it although prepping is a pain in the ass, no wonder they charge so much for jap food cause it's really an art form. will post pics as soon =)

Food aside....

As always, I'm waiting for my hubby, and as usual when he goes out he usually tells me, he will be coming home soon which means I'll be home by 3:00 - 4:00....sigh........... oh well that's married life for you....

How do u name your baby?

If your reading my blog, No this is not a 1-2-3 guide on how to name your baby, Sorry to disappoint you guys, but rather this is me asking the mommies out there, How do you name your baby?

For the past few days, I've been going through in and out of websites looking for baby names, I even downloaded apps on my I-phone for baby names and there in that moment the question dawned upon me, how do you name your baby?!?, how do you know if that name would be perfect for your precious bundle of joy!?!, After all she/he would be carrying his/her name for the rest of their entire life, and I wouldn't want my child to be subjected to ridicule, It's enough that they have to deal with bullies in school and besides I don't want her to hate me her whole life for giving her such a lousy or weird name for that matter, definitely I wouldn't name my kid facebook, batman, superman or Obama-mama no offense to the people who gave them to their kid, (crazy parents "WTH are you thinking?!?!?", poor kid " I totally sympathize with you"). So going back to my big question how do u name your kid? How do you know if she's a Katherine, Jaime, Avery or even a Kelsey, How do you know whats the right name for them, or is it a parents instinct to just know!??! What if I don't have those instinct, what if me and my partner are just simply clueless, does that make us a bad parent? As of now, all we have are just bunch of names that sounds good with our surname =) (typical right?!)...

HMMMM......I guess in this sort of cases we'll find out when the right time comes, which is like 17 weeks from now... hopefully by then our parental instincts kick in and we can give the right name to our precious princess =)......

Tuesday: Had my ultrasound done (21 weeks and counting), waited 3 hours for it, which is like so crazy, hubby was pretty upset with the waiting, and it only took us about 15 mins to do the scan, the technician said since my daughter was so cooperative we manage to finish quite fast, Usually it takes about 30- 1hr just to do the scan. Anyway it was worth the wait cause our baby made contact see for yourself =)

Wednesday: Called my dad early in the morning to greet him a happy birthday, ( miss him & my family sooo sooo much!!!) then rushed off to get ready to go to the doctors needed to get the papers and blood test result for the pass. Aspiring to be "Super Mom"

Such a productive day, I'm really turning into a true blue house wife indeed, I started my day, with marinating the steak for this Saturdays brunch, after that did our laundry and then I started baking my hubby's cake, This would be my first time to bake a cake on my own, although I did study a few lessons in baking before but haven't really tried baking a whole cake all by myself. anyway I was planning to vacuum while waiting for the cake to bake but I was too tired, maybe next time when i have some extra energy and when I'm not all pregnant. hehehe =)

here's the picture of the cake It's not that pretty but as I've said It's the thought that counts right =)

* No Icing yet

* with Icing and almost done

  * End Product =)

Tomorrow will be another busy day, or should I say later, Aside from cooking brunch for my hubby, He suddenly decided to invite some of his friends for dinner to celebrate his birthday, *SIGH* , Don't get me wrong I love to cook for friends, but I really hate it when it's at the last minute. I like to plan my menu ahead of time, especially for dinner parties or even if friends are just coming over for dinner. Anyway I manage to make a menu for tom. dinner, nothing fancy though, and I do hope they like it.

Dinner Menu for tom would be Crispy Chicken in Lime & Cilantro, Spaghetti alle Vongole ( Pasta & clams), and Buttered Garlic Shrimp

Will post pics tom =)

Time to catch some Zzzzzzzzz, Good night =)

Grocery Day = Shopping day

For the past few days I've been watching and gathering recipes, It's my hubby's birthday this weekend and I want to prepare a sumptuous feast for him when he comes home after a long day at work. My hubby's loves to eat steak, so I'm preparing one for him. Saturdays Menu would be Ribeye Steak with Roast Herb Potatoes and Sauteed Mix Mushroom on the side. for dessert I'm baking my hubby a Chocolate Fudge Walnut Cake.
I do hope everything turns out well on sat =) *Cross Fingers* Oh well if not it's the thought that counts right =)

I love doing groceries here in Singapore especially when I'm shopping for fresh mushroom =) so many varieties to choose from. No need to go to specialty stores. any way I did my groceries today, look and see =)

* for this Saturdays menu

* look at this gorgeous tomatoes, they look like candies =)

Just want to share some of the goodies I bought today

I heard some good reviews about Clarins's Huile Tonic came highly recommended by my sister in law anyway they say It helps prevent stretch marks during pregnancy and helps relieve the itchiness you feel caused by the stretching of the skin. It's in oil base form and has this aromatic relaxing scent. I started using mine today as soon as i got home (excited much) =). Well will see if this product really works in a few months time =)...

Time to put this product to the test =) hehehe

Shopping for Vacuum

I never thought this day would come, that I'd be shopping for a vacuum cleaner, I guess its part of getting married, shopping for household electronics. Today in particular we were eyeing for a Vacuum Cleaner, which in my opinion every household must haves, especially when you don't have a maid around to help you clean, a vacuum cleaner can be a girls best friend. N'way me and my hubby went to Courts to purchase a vacuum cleaner but low and behold there where a lot to choose from and being me, who seldom does research i was overwhelmed with all the vacuum cleaners available, I never expected that choosing a vacuum cleaner would be so complicated.

Let me give you guys a crash course on different kinds of vacuum cleaners. There are 4 types;

1. Canister vacuum cleaner - this is the more popular ones you see now a days. but this one is either comes with a bagged or bag-less, depends which one you prefer.

  • Bag-less Advantages: you don't need to keep on buying bags, but can be messy to remove, empty and re attach the dirt canister.
  • Bagged Advantages: basically the opposite of bag-less.

2. Stick or broom vacuum cleaner - we usually see this in infomercials, this are light but has less suction

3. Upright Vacuum cleaner - similar to the stick or broom vacuum cleaner in appearance, but has more suction power and heavier too.

4. Handheld vacuum cleaner - also popular in infomercials, only good for small jobs, the cheapest among all the vacuum cleaners

So after giving you the types of vacuum cleaners available, you can already see me and my hubby scratching our heads, needless to say all the different brands to choose from. N'way to make my long story short, we opted to get the typical canister bag-less type, one being more practical cause we don't want to keep on buying bags which doesn't come cheap and some more it was on promotion =). Tom I'll be trying my new vacuum cleaner hopefully it doesn't disappoint me... next on our shopping list a 32 or 40 inch TV for our bedroom, this time I'll do my research on which brands are nice and is worth buying... till the next time
